Buying Options

The Dayton Audio BS31 speaker bar is designed to deliver bookshelf speaker sound, in a compact speaker bar configuration. A significant advantage of the BS31, compared to its speaker bar competition, is bass extension which resembles a pair of 5-1/4" woofers, not the pair of space-saving 3-1/2" full-range drivers in the BS31. Your friends will be looking for the subwoofer when this diminutive, all-purpose speaker is used on its own for front, rear or secondary room placement.

When used with a medium to high powered 100 watts per channel stereo receiver , the Dayton Audio BS31 plays louder with better bass and overall sound quality than the proliferation of anemically powered speaker bars found at the "Big Box" stores. Installation is simple; just like a pair of bookshelf or satellite speakers. Simply plug in the left and right front channel speaker wires from the receiver to the left and right push button terminals on the BS31.

When used with a 5.1 or 7.1 AV surround receiver for the LCR front channels, wire the Left and Right front channels of the AV receiver to the Left and Right front channels on the BS31 speaker bar. Next, set the subwoofer crossover to 80 Hz if a sub is used, or 60 Hz if no sub is used. Then, set the AV receiver Center Channel setting to None. The receiver will then digitally create a center channel.
